After coming out as the league's only openly homosexual player on Monday, Carl Nassib has received widespread support.
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, Raiders owner Mark Davis, and Raiders coach Jon Gruden have all expressed their support.
Darius Stills and Soloman Thomas, two more Raiders defensive linemen, expressed their admiration for Nassib on social media.
"Much respect, brudda," said Saquon Barkley, Nassib's former Penn State teammate and current Giants running back. “I was pleased of Carl when he led the nation in sacks, but I'm even more happy of him now," Nassib's Penn State coach James Franklin wrote.
J.J. Watt, a defensive tackle for the Cardinals, wrote, "Good for you Carl."
“Glad you feel comfortable enough to share and hopefully someday these types of announcements will no longer be considered breaking news.”
