“I'm out of there”, Julio Jones says of his future with the Falcons

With a single phone call on Monday, the continuous rumblings of a potential separation between Julio Jones and the Atlanta Falcons witnessed a big development. While on live Monday, Fox Sports' Shannon Sharpe called Jones and asked if he wanted to be moved to the Dallas Cowboys or stay in Atlanta.

"I'm out of there, man," Jones said.

"Right now, I want to win," Jones said when Sharpe asked where he wanted to be traded. Jones may or may not have been aware that he was being shown live on television.

Jones sought a trade from the Falcons a few months ago, according to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, and the organisation has since agreed to listen to proposals from interested suitors. The Falcons have yet to receive a deal-worthy offer, which is why Jones rumours continue to circulate.

Jones made his Monday remark in response to the trade request, though making one does not guarantee that it will be granted. Jones' statement suggests that at 32 years old, he's ready for a new beginning.

There are ways to get a deal done, but if there's anything we've learned from what appears to have been a months-long process, it's that striking a deal for a famous name isn't as simple as doing the numbers. Even yet, Monday told us that it's a distinct possibility.
