Kyler Murray, reveals why he was never a Cowboys fan as a kid

Kyler Murray of the Arizona Cardinals was born and raised in Texas, yet he is not a Dallas Cowboys fan. When asked why he wasn't a fan, the quarterback didn't mince words.

"They were always ass," Murray told reporters at a Sports Illustrated release of his magazine cover. Murray said he was a fan of Minnesota Vikings as a kid.

Murray graduated from Allen High School in Allen, Texas, in 1997. Before moving to Oklahoma, he attended Texas A&M for a year.

Murray's Cowboys were over.500 11 times in his career, although not by much in most of them. The Vikings made it to the NFC title game twice in the first decade of the 2000s, and they usually finished first or second in the division.

In Week 17 of the season, the Cardinals face the Cowboys. The Cardinals have won five of their last six games with the Cowboys, including a 38-10 victory last fall led by Murray. Murray and his teammates are looking to return the Cardinals to the NFC championship game, which they have reached twice in Murray's career. In February 2009, they were defeated by the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XLIII.
