People react to the possibility of Tim Tebow returning to the NFL before Colin Kaepernick

People couldn't help but notice the injustice of Colin Kaepernick still being unemployed after news spread that Tim Tebow will allegedly sign with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Although Tebow's one-year contract with the JacksonvilleJaguars will see him play tight end, it seems that he has had more than enough chances to show that he can play in the NFL. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about Colin Kaepernick, who was banned from the NFL after peacefully protesting racial injustice during the national anthem before a game.

Tebow's professional career has never been particularly impressive, which doesn't help matters.

On the other hand, Kaepernick, has proved that he can succeed in the NFL after leading the 49ers to their first Super Bowl appearance since 1994. It's no surprise that news of Tebow's possible return to the gridiron sparked a social media frenzy.

Kaepernick's name was trending on Twitter shortly after the Tebow news broke, with people comparing Tebow's return to the league with a less-than-impressive playing record to Kaepernick's still-unsigned deal. Kaepernick, 33, was a six-year NFL veteran who led the San Francisco 49ers to the2013 Super Bowl. In 2017, he chose to opt-out of his contract with the 49ers.No other teams assigned him.

Whatever side of the argument you take, the jarring optics of Tebow's potential return amidst Kaepernick's ongoing ostracisation are impossible to overlook.
