Players to get extra $1M paycheck all thanks to 17th game

According to reports - Detroit Lions Quarterback Jared Goff will be receiving an extra-large paycheck due to the NFL adding a 17th game in 2021 season. This means another cash influx for some highly paid NFL players.

Jared Goff is one of the first players to receive an extra game check worth nearly $1.509 million at the end of the 2021 season, and all thanks to the added 17th game.

Goff's payday is the most significant "bonus" among dozens of players who will get paid out due to the CBA provision for contracts signed before Feb. 26,2020.

The American football quarterback for the Detroit Lions, Jared Thomas Goff, was traded from the Los Angeles Rams to the Lions, signed a four-year extension in2019 in L.A. worth a whopping $134 million.

He played college football at California, where he was a first-team All-Pac-12 and was selected by the LA Rams as the first overall pick of the 2016 NFL Draft.

Rumours say some players will earn not just a little an extra but... $1 million extra in 2021 due to their already large base salaries: Jimmy Garoppolo , Matt Ryan , Aaron Donald , Derek Carr , Russell Wilson , Frank Clark , Von Miller , Khalil Mack and Demarcus Lawrence .

Additional money and pay checks are funded from the performance-based pay pool.

To qualify for the added salary bracket for a 17th game, players must make more than the minimum salary on contracts signed before Feb. 26, 2020 -the day the CBA was finalised.
