The Miami Dolphins defeated the Baltimore Ravens in an unexpected victory

The Miami Dolphins beat the Baltimore Ravens 22-10 on Thursday after Xavien Howard caused a fumble and returned it for a touchdown.

Early in the fourth quarter, the Miami cornerback returned the ball 49 yards to give the Dolphins a 15-3 lead.

With 4:12 remaining, the Ravens, who entered with a 6-2 record, responded with a Mark Andrews touchdown.

Miami moved to 3-7 after quarterback Tua Tagovailoa scored on a one yard run to secure a second straight victory.

After Jacoby Brissett injured his right knee early in the third quarter, the second-year quarterback joined the game after missing last week's win against the Houston Texans due to a fractured middle finger on his throwing hand.

Brissett had thrown for 156 yards on 11 of 23 attempts before Tagovailoa threw for 158 yards on eight of 13 attempts to lead the Dolphins to victory.

Offensive lineman Liam Eichenberg, who recovered two fumbles by his own quarterback, was also vital in Miami's victory.

Lamar Jackson, the Ravens' quarterback, has been predicted to be the most valuable player this season after completing 26 of 43 passes for 238 yards and one score.

The 2019 MVP, though, only gained 39 yards on the ground and was sacked four times before throwing an interception with 43 seconds remaining.
