His fans have defined the New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman retirement as a 'full throttle approach.’
Julian Francis Edelman, the football wide receiver and punt returner for the New England Patriots, played college football at Kent State and San Mateo's College as a quarterback.
The Patriots then drafted him in the seventh round of the 2009 NFL Draft, and he has continued to be the Patriots' go-to receiver over the past decade.
Edelman takes his main stage of play on offense and as a punt returner, but he has also been pressed into service as a cornerback at times when the Patriots have been shorthanded and needed him on defense.
The 34-year-old announced his retirement just after the New England Patriots released him, sending a message through his social media Twitter page to make the official announcement.
He captioned a video of himself stating – “Foxboro Forever!”
Friend and ex-teammate Tom Brady saluted Edelman on the retirement by saying: 'I love you for all that you did'
Julian was always one of Brady's favourite targets whist in the New England Patriots; even though the distance between teammates has been over a year now, the connection they shared as a quarterback and wide receiver is still as defined and strong as ever.
When the announcement became official for his retirement and plans of leaving the NFL after his 12-yearcareer, it's no surprise to anyone that Tom Brady knew exactly how to express his feelings.
